Hong Ye (28) 2RSP.
We've all read books. Be it Harry Potter, Peter Pan, or X-Men. But I've never known that, there's so many views, in just writing a story. A First Person Subjective , means that The narrator is usually a major or minor character in the story, who reports the events as if they had just happened and who appears to be unaware of the full events. In this case, the reader knows more than the narrator.
A First Person Detached, means that the narrator is a major character in the story, who recalls the events from the vantage point of maturity. He has had time to reflect on the meaning of the events.
A First Person Observer, is a minor character in the story who plays roles of eyewitness and confidant. His sources of information are what he hears and sees and what the main character tells him.
A Third Person Omniscient, is an anonymous person outside the story, who is a "GOD" in this sense that he knows what ever is going to happen next. He not only reports what the characters do and say, but also enters the minds of the character and comments on their actions.
A Third Person Objective is an anonymous person who reports only what the characters say and do. Thoughts of characters can only be expressed as dialogue.
We were than told to do a piece of worksheet. The narrative techniques used in The Unseen, was the first person subjectives. The disadvantages of this Writing techniques is that the narrator know less than the reader, therefore, we have to gather up infromation on our own from the passage.
